The Curiosity Approach
Working towards our accreditation logo

We passionately believe in ‘The Curiosity Approach’. This is a modern-day approach that fits perfectly in current changing technological times. Bringing curiosity, awe and wonder into early childhood & creating the ‘thinkers & doers’ of the future. We aim to empower and ignite passion and excitement in practitioners.

We are delighted to share with you that the Curious Minds Nursery in Stockton are working towards our accreditation in the Curiosity Approach. The Stockton team are now half way through their 12-month journey to create a culture of curiosity, awe and wonder that is deeply embedded within our setting.

Our new Crook nursery will enrol for the accreditation in September when the Curiosity Approach window opens for new applications. The Crook team will be supported and guided by their work colleagues in Stockton to ensure that your child receives all of the benefits the approach brings until we are formally accepted.

We believe that children are competent, strong and have a desire to explore and investigate from birth. They are inquisitive human beings who simply need lots of love and security and the right environment, resources, with knowledgeable adults and other children to help them build their knowledge and fulfil their potential.

We recognise the importance parents play in ensuring their child is happy, valued and secure. Our aim is to form good relationships with parents so that information can be exchanged easily.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Wooden ea pot and cups

The early years foundation stage (EYFS) sets standards for the learning, development and care of your child from birth to 5 years old. The EYFS is aimed at supporting the learning and development of children from birth to five years of age. The framework is directly aimed at supporting practitioners, teaching/education staff, and childminders who are providing care and learning for children up to the age of five.

The framework not only sets out expected developmental milestones and developmental links but also supports those working with EYFS age children in providing the correct support, provisions, and learning environment to best enable children to thrive and develop as well as be happy and healthy!

Key Person

Each child will be assigned a key person. Their role is to help ensure that every child’s care is tailored to meet their individual needs, to help become familiar with the setting, offer a settled relationship for the child and build a relationship with their parents.
